
Pieter Bickford is a well-known figure in Washington County. He currently serves as the Marketing Director at HighRock, a full-service marketing agency, and is a former elected member of the Washington County Board of Education. Pieter spent 25 years in journalism, including roles as the 6 o’clock news anchor and assistant news director at WHAG-TV, as well as editor-in-chief of the local event guide, What’s NXT. He also served as the legislative correspondent in Annapolis for WBAL Radio.
Pieter is actively involved in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation of Washington County. He was a founding member of the Barbara Ingram School for the Arts Foundation, past president of the Western Maryland Alzheimer’s Association, and served nine years on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Symphony Orchestra. An Emmy Award winner, he was also a member of the Board of Governors for the National Capital Region chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Pieter lives in Hagerstown with his wife, Stephanie, and their corgi, Griffyn.
