Carol_Mowe

Carol Mowen began her career in education in 1987. Since then, she has taught at both public and private schools and has worked in educational public relations roles for school districts and an educational nonprofit.

Currently, she serves as the elected president of the Washington County Teachers Association. Prior to this role, she served two terms as WCTA vice-president. Her most recent teaching assignment was at Tech High, where she taught English 11/12 and Advanced Placement English Language and Composition and served as the English Department Leader and Pride Club advisor. Additionally, she has served as an elected delegate to the RepresentativeĀ Assemblies of both the National Education Association and the Maryland State Education Association.

Carol also has experience teaching 7th grade English. She has also taught as an adjunct professor for several community colleges, most recently for Harrisburg Area Community College, Gettysburg campus. In addition to her BA/MA degrees in English and teaching certifications, Carol earned an Accreditation in Public Relations through the National School Public Relations Association. She was an active member of the Chesapeake Chapter of the NSPRA (CHESPRA), serving as both secretary and president.

Carol is an active member of Trinity United Church of Christ (Waynesboro, PA) where she teaches an adult Sunday School class, sings in the choir, and is a member of the Justice and Witness ministry team. She has also served multiple terms on the TUCC Consistory board, including as its secretary and president. She also served as the chairperson of the Trinity Nursery School board.

Carol and her husband Nick have two married sons and several grandchildren.
