Roger Stenersen
Following teaching roles in Kent and Washington counties, Roger began a twenty-six-year stint as a school-based administrator in Washington County middle schools. Being principal at four middle schools in WCPS laid the foundation for him to advance to two roles in higher education; first, for five years as an instructor of Educational Leadership at Towson University, then for six years as Director of Educational Leadership at Hood College in Frederick, where he was instrumental in the development of Hood’s Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership and received the prestigious Martha Church Award for Teaching Excellence.
Along the way he served as campaign co-chair for the United Way of Washington County as well as Board Chair for United Way of Frederick County. Roger has also been active in his church, St. John’s Lutheran in Hagerstown, where he has served several terms as Council Chair. He lives outside Boonsboro with his wife, Marti, and best four-legged pal, Stevie.
