
Carol Corwell-Martin is a WCPS retired teacher and administrator. She worked as a classroom teacher for the majority of her career (20 years), and was selected as a WCPS Teacher of the Year. During her time at Salem Avenue Elementary School, the school earned honors as a National Blue Ribbon School (1999) and a National Title I School (1997).
Carol worked for the Maryland State Department of Education on loan from WCPS, administering Federal Title I monies and State grants, and working with High Poverty Schools across the state. She then returned to WCPS and served as Supervisor of Title I Programs and of The Center for Professional Development (CP3).
As a retiree, Carol volunteers for Saving Webster Dogs by fostering, transporting, and coordinating the adoptions of hundreds of dogs for the Hagerstown branch of this 501c3 organization. She and her husband Dave currently have four dogs under their care.
Carol continues her love of life-long learning by helping with the family farm in Washington County, growing annuals including sunflowers. For the last ten years, she supported and advocated for Instrumental Music Programs in Clear Spring and Washington County.
